Postgraduate training and support

During your postgraduate studies the Library can help you to search for information effectivelycritically evaluate the information you find, and reference your sources.  We also provide guidance on how to conduct systematic reviews, how to manage your research data, and what to consider when publishing your researchWe offer:

Library Research Services

The Library's Research Services team provide specialist advice and support to all of the University's researchers. 

Explore our Archives and Research Collections and access help with Open Access publishing, Research Analytics and Research Data, including tools and templates for data management planning and extensive guidance to help you manage your research data.

Postgraduate study space

Library study areas

Study space in the Library is zoned into silent, quiet and group study areas. More than 500 of the study spaces have computers, the majority have access to power and the whole building is wireless enabled.

We recently converted Level 1 of the Library into a new 115-seater quiet study area.

Postgraduate workroom

Dedicated postgraduate silent workroom (via swipe card access) on Level 5 of the Library with twelve individual PCs.

Graduate and Learning Commons

Dedicated Graduate Commons for postgraduate students in 10 West and Carpenter HouseLearning Commons are informal working environments for independent and group study available on Level 2 of the Library and elsewhere on campus (Norwood House, 6WS and the Virgil Building in the city centre).  Printing and copying facilities are available in each area
