Life Sciences: Pharmacy & Pharmacology: Requesting material

Inter-lLbrary Loans and Bath Copies

Can't find the full text?

If you find references to books, journals, articles or other materials that are not available via either the University of Bath Library's online collection or the University of Plymouth's print collection, you can request these via the University of Bath's inter-library loans service.

Requesting copies of chapters and articles

If you would like a copy of a journal article or book chapter from the University of Bath's print collection, you can request this using our Bath Copies service. It isn't possible to scan books that are out on loan, but when the requested material is both in Library stock and available on the shelf, Library staff will make a scan and then send a copy to your University of Bath email account

Receiving and returning print ILL items.

The process for receiving and returning any items that are requested in print or that can only be supplied in print is slightly different for students and staff who are based in Plymouth.

  • Items will be sent directly to the requester at their University address and need to be returned to the University of Bath Library by post.
  • Package will include a stamped addressed envelope so the item can be returned to the University of Bath Library by the requester.
  • Every physical loan item will arrive with a transit letter outlining details such as the title of the book, the name of the requestor and the book's return date.
  • The return date indicates the date by which the book needs to be returned. Items should be posted back to the University at least two days before this date to ensure it reaches the Library in time.
  • The University of Bath ILL team will return the item to the lending library once it has been received.
  • You can request a renewal of the item by contacting the ILL team, but be aware that if the item has been requested by others the lending library may not allow it to be renewed.
