Plymouth-based MPharm programme

Plymouth-based students studying the University of Bath's Pharmacy MPharm programme are full members of the University of Bath Library and have access to online resources and a University of Bath Library account.

Relevant print materials have been made available to Plymouth-based MPharm students from the University of Plymouth's Charles Seale-Hayne Library.

This guide outlines how to access Library information, resources and help both online from the University of Bath Library and in person at the University of Plymouth's Charles Seale-Hayne Library.

All Plymouth-based MPharm students are entitled to access and use campus-based services and resources at the University of Bath.

Your Library cards

You will be issued with two Library cards. The University of Bath Library card is your student card and the University of Plymouth card will enable you to access places and services on the Plymouth campus. Click on the tabs below to see more details.

  • This is your main, official student card which has your student number and your University username printed on it, and which shows your status as a University of Bath student.
  • You must complete registration before to receive your Library card.
  • You must upload your photo during the University registration process, OR by using the online Photo Upload facility.
  • It identifies you as a member of the National Union of Students (NUS).
  • You need this card to use the SCONUL Access scheme.
  • This card will give you access to University of Plymouth buildings such as the Charles Seale-Hayne Library and the Nancy Astor building.
  • You need this card to borrow print materials from Charles Seale-Hayne Library.

There are two Library teams available to help you:

 

  • University of Bath Library is staffed Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and the online chat service is available from the Library homepage during these hours. You can email the Bath Library team at library@bath.ac.uk.

The Inter-Library Loans (ILL) service is provided by University of Bath Library:

Literature searching support is provided by the University of Bath Library team and website. Your Subject Librarian will deliver information skills sessions in years 1 and 4.

Referencing support is provided by the University of Bath Library team and website. Your subject librarian will run sessions on referencing as part of units in years 1 and 4.

Depending on the support you need, it could be provided by either University of Bath Library or Charles Seale-Hayne Library.

Study rooms are available to book in the Charles Seale-Hayne Library and in the Nancy Astor building.

  • Booking Library study rooms:
    • A member of Charles Seale-Hayne Library staff can use Resource Booker to make a booking on behalf of MPharm students.
  • Booking Nancy Astor study rooms:
    • Students can do this themselves, or through a member of teaching staff.

Dedicated printers are available to MPharm students in the Nancy Astor building.

N.B. Printers in Charles Seale-Hayne cannot be used by University of Bath MPharm students.
