Editing Altmetric Reports

Background Information

This page provides guidance on how to customise the standard departmental reports.
It includes instructions on:

  • Changing the reporting time periods
  • Focusing on specific mention types (e.g. news mentions)
  • Tailoring the reports to highlight your own Altmetrics or those of other entities within the university

How to Change the Time Period for a Report

To change the report’s time period, click the Sort By dropdown and scroll to the bottom to select your preferred timeframe. The report will automatically update.

Reporting on Specific Mention Types

To look in more detail about specific types of mentions e.g. news, policy citations, re-posts, patent citations etc.

1) click on Mentions at the top of the screen.

2) On the new page that appears click on the Add Source dropdown and select which type of mention you are interested in.  Click on the blue Apply button on the right handside to run the search.

3) You can use the other search options to further focus your search to a specific time period  and/or mentions from a specific country.

Finding Altmetrics for Your Research or a Specific University of Bath Unit

To explore mentions for your own outputs

1) click on the blue Edit Search button at the very top of the page

 

 

2) on the new page that appears, click on the red clear fields button in the bottom right

3) To search for yourself:

  1. Type the your name into the Verified Author box located at the top left of the page.
  2. Click the blue Run Search button at the bottom right of the page.

To search by organisations within the University:

  1. Make sure the Verified Author box is empty.
  2. In the Verified Department box, enter the name of the relevant department, centre, institute, etc.
  3. Click the blue Run Search button at the bottom right of the page.
