Library resources and support for students studying on Addictions Counselling courses
The databases listed on this page are there to help you find articles and other resources for your assignments and projects beyond your recommended reading list. Most of the database include link buttons so that you can check if an article is available from the Library catalogue. A few databases also include direct links to some of the articles they list.
The databases will include some items that are not in the Library collection. Anything you find that is not available via the Library, you can request via the Inter-Library Loan service.

Social Policy and Practice simultaneously searches databases including AgeInfo, ChildData and Social Care Online. Many of its records refer to reports, legislation, local/national government documents, organisations, policies, press coverage and service user knowledge. Its focus is on applied research and practice. Some of its links will take you to full documents, but where you find a record of a non-academic document, you may need to search for it using Google.
